In A Day

In a day where exterior is inferior to interior. Where everyone is stepping on each others feet to climb up that latter. Who you are as an individual does not matter.

In a day where most of us are blind with our eyes wide opened. Consumed by today’s ever growing technology and social media, trying to fit its criteria.

In a day where we are defined not by who we are or what we know, but rather by who we know and what we own. It’s a sad state of affairs when everyone is trying to compare.

In a day where the seven deadly sins run large and it charge. Where the dollar has more value then friends and family and originality only spreads judgment and calamity.

In a day of hash tags and profile pages, conversations of the new ages.

In a day where the government can provide money for war yet can’t feed the poor. Where economic inequality and police brutality are simply just another causality of today’s fallen society.

In a day of failed political leadership and state-sponsored senseless violence, it’s we the public who choose to suffer in silence.

In a day of teenage motherhood and absentee fathers and all those who have nice parents do not recognize the values of their families. Where children go hungry or are orphaned due to domestic violence. And still we the public, we remain silent.

In a day of racial profiling and false prophets. Where victims of addiction go nameless and are cast aside, instead of trying to heal what’s really inside.

In a day where innocent children are constantly victimized and the freedom of speech is all too often criminalized.

In a day where most of us don’t realize that we do have a choice. And today my friends I choose to use my voice!
