My mom, she was a fortress, a wall, and her faith fed her with hope. At that time, I couldn’t understand her with all her dogmas and beliefs, maybe I was so immature, so selfish to feel things differently. Living in her own skin, the sum and experience of another time. In the end, we are just women crushed by a sexist culture without mercy.
From my earliest memories, my mom was always there for me. Her presence in my life was like a sturdy fortress, providing me with a sense of security and protection. She never wavered in her love and support, always ready to listen to my problems and offer guidance. Her unwavering faith in God served as a constant source of strength for her, giving her hope even in the darkest of times.
As a child, I couldn’t fully comprehend the depth of my mom’s beliefs. It felt like she had an endless list of dogmas and beliefs that she adhered to. At times, I found it difficult to relate to her strong convictions. I was too wrapped up in my own little world, consumed by my own desires and dreams. Perhaps, I was too immature to see things differently or to appreciate the value of her unwavering faith.
Looking back now, I realize that my mom was living in her own skin, shaped and molded by the experiences of another time. She had faced countless challenges and adversities throughout her life, which had built the foundation of her beliefs. Her faith was not just a set of rules to follow; it was the culmination of a lifetime of trials and triumphs.
Growing up, I often felt frustrated by my mom’s steadfastness and what I saw as her rigid adherence to tradition. I wanted to break free from the chains of societal expectations and carve my own path. Little did I know that my mom’s unwavering faith and strong convictions were actually her way of preparing me for the oppressive and sexist culture that awaited me.
In a society where women are constantly judged and put down, my mom’s resilience was a beacon of light. She stood tall and unwavering, despite the weight of a sexist culture that showed no mercy. Her strength inspired me to fight against the injustices that women face every day.
Reflecting upon my mom’s journey, I now understand that she was not just an individual, but a culmination of the experiences of generations of women who had come before her. She carried their hopes and dreams within her, striving to break free from the chains of patriarchal oppression.
In the end, my mom’s unwavering faith and fortitude were her weapons in the battle against a society that sought to diminish her worth. Through her example, she showed me the importance of standing tall in the face of adversity and never compromising one’s beliefs.
As I write this essay, I am filled with gratitude for my mom and all the women who have fought tirelessly to overcome the shackles imposed by a sexist culture. They are the true warriors, the pillars of strength in a society that often seeks to keep them down.
In conclusion, my mom was more than just a parent; she was a fortress that provided me with love, security, and unwavering support. Her faith fueled her with hope, even in the face of adversity. Although I couldn’t fully understand her at the time, I now realize that her beliefs were shaped by her own experiences and those of generations of women before her. In a culture that seeks to stifle women’s voices, my mom’s strength and resilience are a testament to the power of unwavering conviction. We, as women, must stand together and dismantle the sexist culture that seeks to crush us. Only then can we truly thrive and embrace our worth without mercy.
