Just leave …

In the chill of January 2015, the words echoed like a solemn decree, urging you to heed the call of finality. Believe them when they say it’s over, when the embers of hope have long since faded, and there’s nothing left to fight for. Resist the temptation to seek reasons to stay, to grasp at loopholes that have eluded even their own grasp. Just leave. Let go of what has already fallen, for trying to piece together shattered fragments will consume the rest of your days. Don’t plead or profess undying love, for your energy is better spent elsewhere, healing and fighting for someone who will stand by you with unwavering strength.

You are not a battle to be won, nor a soul to be salvaged. The longer you fight, the wearier you will become, and you shouldn’t have to convince anyone to see your worth. You are not broken, nor the one who has surrendered. You are the one who remained steadfast, even as your heart crumbled beneath the weight of your own bones. You can promise that things will be better, that you will emerge stronger, but deep down, you both know that leaving is what’s best for both of you.

You’ve been locked in a relentless struggle, torn between loving yourself and someone who only knows how to leave before resolutions can be found. So, just leave. Even if your heart still yearns for them, remember that you deserve someone who will stand beside you, even when their strength wanes. “Just leave,” the universe whispers, urging you to embrace the path of self-preservation and seek the love you truly deserve.
