Love beckons us to surrender everything, to shed our shields and defenses, and to enter a realm where loss becomes gain. What kind of invitation is this? Who would willingly embrace such uncertainty, relinquishing their beliefs, accomplishments, and the very essence of self that they have meticulously crafted?
To release our ideas, our spiritual superstitions, and our guarded constructs is a daunting prospect. It means dismantling the walls we’ve built around our hearts, abandoning our fantasies of completion, and shedding the illusions of permanence and solidity. It’s a terrifying plunge into the unknown depths of the beloved’s embrace.
Only a foolhardy lover would entertain such groundless uncertainty, diving headlong into the enigmatic, dark waters of the beloved’s womb. In this bewildering whirlpool of grace, every facet of our being is liberated by the purifying fires of love’s movement. Timeless, luminous space offers endless invitations for the lover to die and be reborn, to be rewired for the unknown ways that love must express itself through each of us.
It’s an invitation to relinquish control, to allow the architect of love to re-engineer our very essence. Every cell, every strand of DNA, every synapse in the brain is to be rewired for what is to come, to prepare for the forever unknown ways that love must express itself through each of us.
As the cycles of death and rebirth unfold, love takes shape in this human body, and a call from beyond pierces the thundering silence. The tea pot boils, the matcha is ready. Behold the cup of tea, the birds’ song, the summer wildflowers, the blooming rose bush, the strange scents from the neighbor’s house, the wind chimes’ occasional clanging, the baby across the street yearning for comfort, the tingling in the fingers from a life of typing, the day’s to-do list, the responsibilities of this life. These appearances, like echoes, like mirages, like rainbows, are translucent, luminous reminders of the only response that makes sense: deep gratitude.
