Human Spirit

Selfishness unifies the insignificant. It is not height, nor weight, nor muscles that make a person great… It is their boundless sensitivity. In a world often enamored with superficial measures of strength and success, it is the profound sensitivity of the soul that truly distinguishes greatness. This sensitivity, an innate ability to empathize and connect deeply with others, transcends physical attributes and societal accolades. It reveals a person’s true character, a heart capable of understanding, caring, and loving without limits. Such sensitivity is a quiet strength, an unassuming power that resonates deeply within the hearts of those it touches. It … Continue reading Human Spirit

The Promise of Tomorrow

Sometimes, it all makes perfect sense to me. My time here is limited, and life is beautiful, miraculous, fragile, and so very precious. Every moment is a fleeting miracle, a delicate dance of existence that I treasure deeply. I don’t have a second to waste, for each heartbeat is a gift, each breath a testament to the wonder of life. And so, I love you all. I love you, life. I love you, my Creator, Universe. In the vast expanse of being, I find solace and joy in the connections that bind us all, in the love that flows through … Continue reading The Promise of Tomorrow

Pour Yourself Into Poetry

Never dream, love, or write poetry with anything less than all of your heart. To dream is to transcend the mundane, to explore the vast expanse of imagination where possibilities are endless. Dream with abandon, with every fiber of your being, for it is in these dreams that the seeds of greatness are sown. Allow your heart to be the compass, guiding you through the uncharted territories of your mind, where only the bold dare to venture. To love with anything less than all your heart is to deny the very essence of love itself. Love demands vulnerability, courage, and … Continue reading Pour Yourself Into Poetry

Choice

She stepped onto the sand with firm feet, forsaking the false shortcuts she had once chosen. She had sailed through her previous life with sails hoisted, carried by the breath of other voices, countless ideas, and many pieces of advice. And so, arriving where she never wanted to be, she reached nowhere. Today was the first day of an entire year that promised to reveal the new, and among all those there, contemplating the colorful sky and drinking champagne, she awaited her first promise of the future, coming from within. She wished to translate herself tomorrow and the day after … Continue reading Choice

Sometimes…

Sometimes, it gets tiring. Closed doors, keys that don’t open them, the anguish of not knowing how to unlock them. The will that builds its nest in the greenest branches and spends time incubating eggs that seem never to hatch. The waiting for the flight of butterflies that take ages to break free from their cocoons. The repeated emergence of “no” when life tirelessly prepares banquets of welcome for the “yes.” The “almost” that extends so long it feels endless. And lurking, always following our courage from a distance, the dangerous prospect of “never,” waiting for every gap created by … Continue reading Sometimes…

Crazy

When men talk about their “crazy” ex-girlfriends or ex-wives, what they often mean is that these women cried a lot, texted too often, had an eating disorder, wanted too much or too little sex, or generally felt anything beyond the realm of emotionally undemanding agreement. This does not make these women crazy. It makes them human beings, with flaws and emotional vulnerabilities. However, deciding that any behavior that they do not like must be insane—well, that does make a man a jerk. When men do this regularly, remember, if you are a woman, you are not the exception. You are … Continue reading Crazy

Blink of Eyes

Quiet, serene, while the world passes by. Souls suspended in time, traveling to new destinations. No place is old. Each journey reveals something new, and we, too, are constantly renewed. Eyes closed, oblivious to the world outside, we are enveloped in a timeless moment. The trees blur into passing shadows, their details indistinguishable, reminders of the fleeting nature of reality. In this dream-like state, we drift through life, not bound by the constraints of time or place. The details, often easy to get lost in, fade into the background as we float through the essence of existence. Here, we are … Continue reading Blink of Eyes

Esplendor

Há esplendor em tudo. Eu vi isso. Agora vejo mais com a idade. Existe esplendor. Continue reading Esplendor

2014

The saddest thing of all is that I was allowed one small glimpse of what could be. And for a brief, impossible, beautiful moment, I was allowed to hold that happiness in my hands. We were whole, we were untouched, we were together. And we were happy. And it is now in this silent moment that I realize that these moments were only dust. Memories made and vanished, an ephemeral escape into a world that could only last for so long…😔 ©️ Beatriz Esmer Continue reading 2014
