Esplendor

Há esplendor em tudo. Eu vi isso. Agora vejo mais com a idade. Existe esplendor. Continue reading Esplendor

2014

The saddest thing of all is that I was allowed one small glimpse of what could be. And for a brief, impossible, beautiful moment, I was allowed to hold that happiness in my hands. We were whole, we were untouched, we were together. And we were happy. And it is now in this silent moment that I realize that these moments were only dust. Memories made and vanished, an ephemeral escape into a world that could only last for so long…😔 ©️ Beatriz Esmer Continue reading 2014

Dreamer

At first, I thought I’d lost my own body, felt it slip with the wind. It was as if I had become untethered, adrift in the currents of uncertainty. But then, I began to practice the faith of bare trees, standing tall and unyielding in the face of adversity. I learned to embrace the stillness of winter, to find solace in the quiet solitude of an empty cathedral. I began to see the nights as dreams, each one a canvas painted in different shades of green, a symphony of hues that danced in the moonlight. I found beauty in the … Continue reading Dreamer

The Verb

I yearn for the sweetness of the verbs “live” and “love,” to savor their essence in every breath and heartbeat. In the tapestry of life, I seek to weave threads of tenderness, painting my days with hues of affection and joy. To live with purpose and passion, to love with an open heart, these are the desires that stir my soul. In the gentle embrace of “live,” I find the courage to face each dawn with hope, to embrace the beauty of the present moment. It is in the simple acts of living—walking in the sunlight, feeling the cool breeze, … Continue reading The Verb

“You must love in such a way that the person you love feels free.” — Thich Nhat Hanh

To love in this manner is to embrace a profound and selfless form of affection. It is to offer a sanctuary where the person you love can breathe, where their soul can expand without constraint. This love is not possessive but liberating, allowing the beloved to explore their own path, their own essence, while feeling the warmth of your unwavering support. In this love, there is no room for jealousy or control, for true love thrives in freedom. It is a gentle whisper that says, “I trust you,” and a soft touch that reassures, “I am here for you.” It … Continue reading “You must love in such a way that the person you love feels free.” — Thich Nhat Hanh

Sugar & Gratitude

Time has passed, and I have pondered us at different hours and through various flavors. Despite the inclinations to hold grudges or to forget them, the conclusion is that our imbalance is a ruin where our truths hide and love conceals itself. Picture it: a solitary life with our dog and a small garden in the backyard, tended with our own hands. Psychopaths had dogs, dictators were vegans, and devout Christians. This, therefore, doesn’t say much about you, me, or them. But your solitude with rue plants in the yard—yes, this is the limbo where our emptiness revels. Our bitterness … Continue reading Sugar & Gratitude

Kindness

If we were taught to use affectionate words from childhood, we would understand their profound power, both in hearing and speaking them. Imagine a world where kind words are the norm, where each utterance carries the weight of love and compassion. Such words have the power to heal, to uplift, and to connect us on the deepest levels. They can transform a simple conversation into a meaningful exchange, leaving lasting imprints on our hearts. When we speak with affection, we not only brighten the lives of others, but we also enrich our own souls. In this way, the simple act … Continue reading Kindness

Time

The raindrops were like a symphony, drumming on the window with a steady beat, as if trying to keep time with the clock, tick-ticking away, never missing a beat. Time is a fickle friend, passing quickly when we want it to slow, dragging on when we wish it would fly, testing the limits of our endurance. But amidst the rain and the ticking clock, there was a song that played, a melody that spoke to the heart, making the beauty and sadness almost interchangeable. For in the midst of sorrow, there is often a beauty that shines through, a glimmer … Continue reading Time

Chaos Poetry

There is a poetry in the chaos, a rhythm in the uncertainty. Life, in its infinite complexity, unfolds in unexpected ways. Sometimes, it takes things falling apart to bring them back together again. It’s in those moments of fragmentation that we discover our true strength, our ability to rebuild and renew.  Falling apart isn’t always a tragedy; it’s a metamorphosis, a necessary disruption to create space for growth. My heart, with its erratic beats, echoes the unpredictable nature of existence. I get shy, overwhelmed by the intensity of feeling, and yet there are times when numbness takes over, a stark … Continue reading Chaos Poetry

Identity

…sometimes, there is more English in me than I can bear; somedays, I cannot find all of my mother tongue, and I cringe at how polluted my mouth has become, how diluted my identity… In these moments, I feel a dissonance within, where my words betray the roots that anchor me. The language of my heart and heritage slips through my fingers, replaced by foreign syllables that feel alien on my tongue. This blending, this fusion of tongues, seems to erode the essence of who I am, leaving a trace of sadness in its wake. My mouth, once a vessel … Continue reading Identity
