Women in you…

Listen to the salted caramel voices
of women in you,
heavy stories paint pictures
on this thick skin.
thick like the barriers we’ve crossed,
thick like the borders we’ve birthed,
thick like the borders we’ve burned,
gentle fire, orchid blooming,
resistant and resilient.
Some of us,
broken and butchered.
bold but never solid.
lost but not wanting to be found.
lost the wanting to be wanted.
turn your soul into poems,
ink colored skin…❤️

  1. Hi Bia, I never saw a woman more special than you.. Love this poem so very much. Thank you for thinking of me. Hope you had a wonderful day with your kids. All the very best, keeping you in my thoughts, Take care and stay safe.

  2. I read this on Mother’s Day morning in Nicaragua. I think of the women in my life, for whom I am grateful. Mother, grandmothers, aunts, sister, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, daughters, granddaughters, old lovers, previous wives…and the women in your life that have guided you, molded you, challenged and encouraged you.
