Everyone suffers a little rain…

Life is never what it seems. Behind smiles, there is always something missing. Despite the craving for love, and the need to feel whole again; sometimes, what I once knew, the life I had, takes me back, holds me, and caresses me with sweet memories; but with all things, and all times, life has a way of snapping back with repercussions. The ripples of what was, what is now, and what is to come, bleed together. Running slowly into one. Like reverberations in the water, little raindrops of an impending storm. The clouds gather, forming layers to deep too part … Continue reading Everyone suffers a little rain…

Death…rebirth?

In this sad world of ours, sorrow comes to all; and, to the young, it comes with bitterest agony, because it takes them unaware. The older have learned to ever expect it. I am anxious to afford some alleviation of your present distress. Perfect relief is not possible, except with time. You cannot now realize that you will ever feel better. Is not this so? And yet it is a mistake. You are sure to be happy again. Remember in the depth and even the agony of despondency, which very shortly you are to feel well again. To know this, … Continue reading Death…rebirth?

C’est la vie…. J’aime cette vie folle…des choses simples…

Balmy summer nights and mandarin peels. How people move their hands when they speak. The intersection between past present and future, and everything that’s both lost and found. Human contradictions. Long fingers of light sweeping through a train carriage. Boys with soft, curious eyes. Boys with beautiful hands. All hands in general. Old people hands. Callouses and dimples and the way new skin grows back so much whiter, so much cleaner. Being touched tenderly, being touched brusquely, just being touched. My mother bending over in the kitchen, or on the bed’s edge rubbing lotion into her heels (a long ago). … Continue reading C’est la vie…. J’aime cette vie folle…des choses simples…

Love…

Love is the fusion of opposites in the understanding of feelings, thoughts, and attitudes. It is mutual tolerance, motivated by intense compatibility. True love has moved beyond the blindness of mere attraction. You have become enlightened, recognizing the strengths and weaknesses in the object of your love without being disillusioned or disappointed. True love is total adjustment to the other person, so that he or she becomes the most important person to you in the world. Love is motivation for communication, for it takes more energy to communicate than to copulate. Love is not possessive, for it has no need … Continue reading Love…

Opened distances…

The distances were opened. According to the speed, living, profound, this experience, perhaps fruitful, have been the representation of my inside out. Life with its unforeseen seems to amaze me. All our plans are superficial at life. We start Monday as if it were a small New Year’s Eve. When we are on Saturday, we plan the next business day. Are there useless days? Is there some space of time or inertia may have advantage? It is impossible to measure the possibilities of life. “It is in anguish that man gets the consciousness of his freedom”, as the French philosopher … Continue reading Opened distances…

Congonhas do Campos city…

The mornings of the streets of Congonhas do Campo city seem to exhale the poetic baroque smell, its history in verse and prose, they breathe, perspire their secrets in the corners of their old houses. The houses, they tell us their fascinating stories, reappearing a vision, a mirage amid the dense morning fog with essences and sounds like an exciting trip back in time, a pilgrimage of living that blend to a pilgrimage of the dead. And anonymous historical figures mingle with contemporary bumping up and seeding fallacies and stories from their green mountains and heavenly waterfalls. The wood burning … Continue reading Congonhas do Campos city…

Hey girl…

[…] And kid, you’ve got to love yourself. You’ve got wake up at four in the morning, brew black coffee, and stare at the birds drowning in the darkness of the dawn. Then you’ve got to wash all your sheets until they smell of lemon detergent you bought for four dollars at the local grocery store. You’ve got to stop taking … Continue reading Hey girl…
