Where is God? Where is Christ? Where have we looked for Him? Perhaps He has become a symbol, a reflection of our desire to show how good we are. Just self-promotion. A shield. We have confined God within the so-called sacred realms of churches, healings, miracles, and marvels. We speak in His name as if we were proclaimed His spokespeople, claiming ownership of the truth. We have killed in His name, wielding His words like metal that cuts deeply into the souls of those who disagree with us.
We have awaited Christ’s coming while His essence of Love does not live within us. We recite His words with hands stained with blood and hearts heavy with hatred. We strive to “bring down fire from heaven” in our worship services, yet God’s favor is found in the simple, beautiful moments of life. In the sunshine on our faces, the sea lapping at our toes, picking up our children from school, or a note from a caring friend.
In our search for divinity, we have overlooked the sacredness of the everyday. We seek grand gestures and miraculous signs, yet God’s presence is in the gentle and the mundane. It is in the quiet acts of kindness, the warmth of a genuine smile, the embrace of a loved one. Peace and Love are not found in the spectacle, but in the simple, profound connections we make with each other.
In truth, God is not confined to the altars we build or the rituals we perform. He lives in the love we share, the compassion we extend, and the moments of grace we experience. We are called to embody His love in our actions, to live out His message in our lives. Only then can we truly find Him, not as a distant deity, but as an intimate presence in every heartbeat and every breath.
Peace & Love 🙏🏾❤️
