Springtime in Brazil — October 13, 2013

The sun cast a golden spell upon the world, waking up with a gentle caress before others even noticed the light washing through their windows. I had a place to be that day, someone waiting with a whispered word and a brand new song. Spring is the time when cherry blossoms blush with bashful pride, and birds discover their melodious rhythm anew. It’s the light that dances on your fingertips as you watch people, lost in their own reveries.

In spring, nothing important seems to touch your ears, and the world’s opinions fade into a blissful hum. There’s a unique happiness that holds your hand, leading you to places of serene safety. And so, it was time. Nervousness wrapped around me, turning my voice into a whisper. “Today I am bold,” I murmured, admiring my multicolored fingernails.

I caught the bus, watching mothers immortalize their children’s moments with pictures. The day stretched before me with a promise of uncertainty and discovery. IlMaybe, just maybe, I’d find myself in a forest, sipping cold water from cupped hands, feeling the earth’s pulse beneath my feet. Spring always promises surprises, and today, my feet were eager to meet them. ❤️
