Zenith

I closed my eyes to commit a sin, far from the river of sleep. Its soothing song lured me, tempting me to uncover its deep secrets. On its lofty banks, my hopes and dreams lament, their tears reaching the riverbed. Carrying my wishes, the river lent a shoulder to my woes, swallowing forever my failures—failures I never meant.

On its shores, I dethroned a sunrise, reducing it to mere flames, clinging to a fading twilight. I proudly laid my claim and built a castle of sand, my kingdom of chimera. Under the genial light of hope, I reveled in my splendid era. In the ruin of my reality, I honored my zenith, my fallen angels, my only kin and kith.

On those banks, I play my harp and weep some more, for every passing ripple is a ponder to my wound still sore. ❤️
