Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva

“The conquest of our democracy was the result of intense struggle by a large part of our society. This struggle allows the people today to have the power to freely choose their representatives. Workers, women, all social segments can come to power, because they have the full right of expression and manifestation. Only in a democracy can the people go to the streets to claim their rights, because democracy is not a pact of silence, it is society on the move seeking new conquests. ” – Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva

Brazil was not the same after his victorious passage through the presidency of the Republic: more than 40 million sisters and brothers of ours left poverty and joined the middle class. We regain international prestige, we paid our debts, we were respected and loved by the world. Our economy developed like never before, reaching indexes that impressed the other Nations. The universities opened up for the children of the people, for the blacks, for the Indians, in the authentic Pro-Uni revolution. Bolsa Família killed the famine and gave birth to citizenship for millions of Brazilians who, because of the strange perversion of our elite, simply did not eat. Let me repeat: before Lula, millions of Brazilians did not eat, and governments thought it very natural.
