A Quiet Certainty

It is a delicate thing, this business of breathing. We rush through traffic, through toast, through words swallowed before they can fully form on the tongue, as if life were a train we are perpetually about to miss. But what about the heart? The heart is not a station platform. The heart is a quiet room.

You deserve a slow love. The kind of love that takes off its coat without being asked, that sits on the rug by the fire and does not check the time. Uncomplicated. Like water in a glass, simply water, nothing hidden in its depths except its own transparency. No rush. No breathless panic of wondering if you are enough, because the air between you is already full and steady.

Sure. Stable. Consistent. These are not boring words; they are the sound of roots gripping the dark, damp earth so that the tree can finally stretch its branches toward the sun without trembling.

Think of it: someone who looks at you not as a puzzle to be solved or a storm to be weathered, but as a quiet landscape they wish to inhabit. Someone who is sure of you in the way the morning is sure of the light—quietly, inevitably arriving. And you, looking back, knowing without a single stutter in your chest that you are safe in your certainty.

It is strange how we starve ourselves in rooms full of food, accepting the crumbs of hurried glances and half-promises, whispering that it is enough. It is not enough. You deserve that love. The deep, unhurried kind that stays long after the door is closed and the world outside has finally gone to sleep. ❤️
