Misogynistic violence, racism, and hate speech are nothing new—they have long been embedded in society. But today, they surface with alarming audacity. What has changed is their form: once whispered, they are now shouted across social media, anonymous emails, and even political speeches. When female lawmakers face threats of rape and murder, when Black individuals are subjected to racial slurs, and when minorities are persecuted, these are not “isolated incidents.” We are witnessing the same fascism as always, merely repackaged.
Those who refuse to connect the dots are either deliberately ignoring history or, worse, complicit in a power structure that thrives on hatred. Silence in the face of such barbarity is not neutrality—it is active complicity.
